September 11th

Yesterday a class of Lee School students (Mrs. Cramer’s 5th graders, I believe) and many adults from the school and general community came together at 9:30 a.m. at the Ackerman Peace Garden, where a piece of the twin towers resides, to observe the September 11th tragedy.

Thank you to the Sebastians and Kirwans for their leadership in beautifying this peace garden this summer and organizing this event. A few speeches were made and group of citizens led us in “America the Beautiful.” It was a nice observance, one that wanted to emphasize the importance of peace in our world. (There was another September 11th event at the fire station at 8 a.m. that I missed.)
