Election season in Canby is approaching. We don’t have any city primary elections but there are 3 council seats and the mayor’s seat that are open in the general election in November.
I am still in my mid-term, so I am not running this time. Please let me know if you’d like to know more about what holding this office entails. It’s fun! There is a significant time commitment involved, and it’s mostly volunteer (although you get paid $100 a month), but it is a valuable and rewarding life experience. You get to help shape the direction our city takes.
Administration – MAYOR AND COUNCIL ELECTION INFORMATION – the position of Mayor and three City Council positions will be on the November 8, 2016 General Election ballot. The City Council positions are four-year terms and the Mayor serves a two-year term. The first date to submit candidate filing documents is June 1, 2016.
