Touring the Canby Depot Museum

The Eccles 3rd graders went on a walking field trip to the Canby Depot Museum on Friday morning. I went along with Mrs. Scharich’s class, as my daughter Sophie is in her class.

It is fun to imagine this historic depot building in its original location in downtown Canby, near the location of the current Bricks and Minifigs Store. The caboose was exciting for the kids to explore inside: there are look-out benches up near the ceiling on both sides.  The millstone for grinding dried corn in the museum was fun to crank, too.

Thank you to the volunteer tour guides of the Canby Historical Society: Mrs. Crawford, Mrs. Darling, Mr. Daniels, and another lady (I cannot remember her name.)
