The Overriding Fun Aspects of the 4th of July

The Canby Independence Day Celebration was a  lot of fun this year, despite the offensive float that I mentioned in my previous post. The City took it over and ran it this year for the first time,  and we moved the parade to 9:30 a.m., which was well received. There were other new additions such as tie dying, an arcade truck, a flash mob that did the “Electric Slide,” and a beer garden,

My husband Myron and I rode in Al and Jeanne Riddle’s ’57 Ford Fairlane in the parade. They really decked it out. It’s such a beautiful car. I had a ball waving to people along the route. A new life experience!

Thank you to everyone that came downtown to the participate  in and volunteer for in the event. The City’s Jamie Stickel and her crew did a wonderful job this year–their first year as organizers.
