First Friday in Canby

My middle daughter Sophie and I went to the First Friday event in downtown Canby on Friday, and I was struck by how happenin’ it was with the many “Community Faire” vendors.

There were food and wares/craft tents all along the south side of Wait Park as well as the unveiling of the new Heritage Trail plaques, a novelty that I love.

At the city council meeting on Wednesday, in fact, we amended our business license exemptions, meaning that craft vendors like these folks will not need to pay for a business license if they will be operating in downtown location fewer than 30 days per year.

Thanks to Councilor Parker for taking the lead on this and vendors Catherine, Bonnie, James, Claire and Lisa for showing up in support.
