I was among a group of blueberry-pie-serving volunteers two weeks ago at Hope Village’s Bluegrass & Blueberries concert. Among the others were Marketing Director Ruth Howard’s relatives and Irene Konev (not pictured).
There were about 400 concert attendees, almost entirely seniors, who came to listen to the tunes and eat pie. It was a fun and free social outing for folks. About 200 came to the 6-7 pm show indoors and about 200 came to the 7-8 pm show outdoors. Gingerich Farms donates the tasty pies, and coupled with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it’s a real hit!
