I watched the welcome ceremony for the South Korean exchange students this morning at Baker Prairie Middle School and it was special.
The 8th grade band played both the Korean national anthem and the American one. The principals signed a ceremonial proclamation of cooperation and peace and they and two student leaders spoke. Then some Korean students performed a few tae kwon do routines and then a mixed choir sang. An American girl played guitar and sang a Pink song and two boys did a dance to a new Thriller remix.
It was a fun ice breaker morning for all of the kids. I am glad that we get to host a student, named Seoji, for this program. They have a busy week ahead!
